Sorry for Being so lasy with my updates, I was editing the whole last week, scanning footage, syncing Stuff, searching for sound FX, shooting a Title Sequenz and write the film for the third time, like many people would call Editing. So I completed the first rough Picture and Sound Cut, although it’s more than a rough cut, but I call it rough cut to give me the amount of time needed to make good and effective (in no means filled with VFXs) cuts. My plan is to work on it over and over again, like I did it on the screenplay. One reason for that is that after grading, sound mixing and finishing, on which I’ll hopefully be able to work with a professional, I can’t make any canoes to the cut any more. Now I’m trying to get little bit of distance to the project although it’s quite hard, to nearly impossible. I’m doing the first test screenings for cast and crew to get valuable feedback for the next draft.
Looking forward to loading up the first pictures and advertising stuff and maybe in the future a trailer too.
Tomorrow cast and crew’s arriving (what I’m really happy about) so there will be a lot to do. Packing gear, rehearsing the script a little and having a good evening befor the shooting, which will be very exhausting and hopefully turn out well.
Next update will come from the editing room.
But until then some nice days and a happy christmas evening.
My first blog post after a while is about my new short “Staub”. I’m working on the screenplay since august and pre viz as well as comming up with a crew and actors, which I’m really proud of, are also done. Now I’m looking forward to a nice x-mas evening and to 3 days of principal photography.
But what will the film be about:
It describes an inner journey of a depressive author, Paul, who comes through a painting into a big factury (hall), which describes his inner world. In this factury we as well as Paul himself get to know his inner world. Through a bunch of surreal happenings we learn about him and how he finds his way out of the prison built by his psyche, namely by fighting against the storm, which could easily kill him.
